Pre/Post-Sale Technical Support Analyst
Skills: JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, RMF, z/OS utilities in general, SORT utilities, Assembler, C, C++ for z/OS
GFS Software develops tape management software for the IBM z/OS environment. Founded in 1988, GFS develops quality solutions that produce measurable cost savings while increasing operational efficiency.
We are seeking an experienced technician with expertise in the z/OS operating system, Mainframe Storage, Tape Library, Tape Virtualization, and Tape Management Systems to support both pre and post-sales efforts.
Resposibilities include:
- Becoming an expert in the technical capabilities of the GFS software solutions
- Providing technical assistance to the sales team and prospective customers during the entire product sales cycle
- Preparing and presenting technical presentations and answering questions during the sales process
- Assisting in the installation and implementation of GFS tape management solutions in prospective customer environments for proof-of-concept
- Assisting in the fulfillment of RFP / RFI preparation
- Providing Level 1 and 2 technical support to existing customers
Skills and Experience Desired
Qualifications:
- 6+ years mainframe experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in an end-user facing role
- Strong analytical and technical abilities
- Solid understanding of mainframe tape storage concepts
- Experience with issue tracking, fault-finding, and debugging in mainframe environments
- Assembler, C, C++ for z/OS programming experience desired
